Day 41, a very busy Sunday ahead. The lovely thing is that I have the energy to do everything I need to do. There will be shopping, playing in the park, fixing things up for next week, running, and I hope a little bit of football.
Watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead again for the 4th time yesterday. It is so motivating. I think everyone trying to do a fast should watch it from time to time . The reason I decided to do it was because I was getting my teeth cleaned and a root canal. The dentist office has TVs on the ceiling with Netflix.........so why not? I almost forgot I was there. Thanks again, Joe Cross.
Root canals can be tough. Everyone said I probably wouldn't feel too well after. My dentist likes to use lots of deadening agent. Some kind of 'caine. After that wore off, I felt just fine. I have to believe it's because of the juice. I think that my body is in a state of healing and constantly giving it the nutrients it needs, has made recovery much faster. What else could it possibly be? Even before that stuff wore off, I was busy doing things. Normally, I think I would have taken a nap. In the movie, Siong says that she feels 21 again, after just a short fast. I won't go that far, but I do feel very rejuvenated. And I love it!
After this is over, less than 3 weeks now, one of the things I want to do is find some way to get some kids I know to eat more vegetables. It won't be an easy task. They are very strong minded. I keep expecting them to sprout feathers from all the chicken they have eaten over the years. I made a start last night. I had them watch FSND. They were interested for about 30 minutes of it and did learn something. They tasted my juice too, only a taste, and that is progress. They are curious about the process. Only 5 and 6, so I do not expect too much, but will keep trying. They are very smart and can see the difference in me. We will have to see how that goes.......future blog fodder maybe.
Out of time...............Juice on!!
I just found your blog today. My hubby and I are going to do a reboot for Thanksgiving. We've been doing whole food juices in the blender to gear up for it and don't own a regular juicer. I hope we can still lose weight. We'll see. Nevertheless, thanks for sharing your journey and good luck making it to day 60. It is so close!
ReplyDeleteMy friend bought this juicer and it is working great for him, only $44.oo on eBay.

Vicki,
ReplyDeleteMy friend bought this juicer and it was an awesome deal. I have a question, have you juiced Kale on your Breville and compared it to this one? Do you get equal amounts of juice from both? Does the Breville juice a little but toss out the big chopped pieces like the ebay one does?
Thanks for your time I enjoy reading your blog.
Dan
Sadly, that juicer deal is no longer available. I waited too long, was going to get one as a gift. I have not used it or seen it in person. My friend is using it and loves it so far, but I don't know any of the particulars. Sorry. I do love my Breville. Kale doesn't make much juice. It helps if you soak it in water for a few hours after trimming the stems, like flowers in a vase, only in the fridge. The Breville does not toss out chunks. It does a good job, I think, but I have never used any other.
